HK SAR passport holders are generally visa-exempt for tourism under the bilateral arrangement (around 30 days). Always confirm with the Thai Consulate/Immigration before travel. Passport validity of 6+ months, return tickets and accommodation details are commonly checked. Thailand revised unilateral exemption schemes from Sep 2026; Hong Kong remains under bilateral exemption — verify the latest official notice.
Short trips: Bangkok + Ayutthaya. Beach: direct to Phuket or Samui. Slow travel: Chiang Mai. Five days can mix Bangkok + Hua Hin, or Bangkok then a southern flight.
Roughly Nov–Feb is cooler/drier. Andaman (Phuket, Krabi) rainy season is about May–Oct; Gulf (Samui) timing differs — check by destination.
